Every tree on this page was made in our own workshop, and every one of them is in a hospital or a hospice garden.
The organ donation tree
It stands in the garden in a circle of slate, with lights set into the ground around it. A steel frame with copper leaves, built to stay outside.
It is on the way past for the people who work there, as well as somewhere to come to.

Set in the garden, on its own

Copper does not stay the colour it arrives. It darkens year on year, so a tree ends up keeping a record of how long it has been standing without anybody writing it down.
A special place at the maternity unit
A courtyard garden with a bench in it, for families and for the staff who walk past it every day. The staff call it a calming place of reflection and wellbeing.
Out in the grounds, with seating round it
It sits on the paving with a bench curved round behind it and planting at the base. It is there for everybody.
A tree is not finished on the day it is delivered. Leaves are added afterwards, one at a time, for as long as the place wants to keep adding them.
